We celebrate the beginning of a new year every Advent. As we press forward toward the future vision God is revealing and accomplishing through our church, we will gather as a communion for a Holiday Dinner circa 1816. This location at 126 Coming Street was consecrated a Church for the Lord’s Glory in 1816. In gratitude for the blessing of our location and the opportunities to minister the Gospel our corner provides today we will remember our beginning with a grand “period” themed meal of wild game, and early American (southern) dishes common to the holiday expression of those who planted the parish we so enjoy today.
Please keep Mrs. Allison Lawrence, wife of Bishop Mark Lawrence, in your prayers. She has suffered a back injury and will be recuperating at home. Please, no visitors at this time. We encourage you to add her to your parish prayer list. Cards of encouragement are welcome!

FROM FOLLY is the amazing true story of a 21-year-old college student’s survival in the ocean following a failed suicide attempt. Matthew’s plan was to swim out as far as he could into the Atlantic Ocean so that even if he wanted to turn back at the last minute, it would be too late. Yet when the time came to drown himself, he recognized something that would change him forever. At the brink of death, he finally saw the value of life.
Matthew will be with us at each service to share his story 8:00, 9:15 and 11:15 am November 13th.
There will be a book signing following the services. The Book is an inspiring story of God’s relentless pursuit of an extremely “lost sheep.”
Matt will join 6th-12th grade students and their family’s for lunch at 12:30pm in the Wellbrock Hall.
During the sermon time children under 6th grade will be participating in a Service Learning Project for the Seafarer Ministry.

Here Is Our God!
God’s Revelation of Himself in Scripture
The Gospel Coalition’s 2012 National Women’s Conference is for women but not all about women. It’s about the gospel of Jesus Christ. It’s a time to learn more of what Scripture says to us—and to say it to each other. A time to dig deeper into the character of God and his purpose for his people. A time to gather together and share biblical encouragement as sisters, daughters, wives, mothers, and friends.
Jenny Dickinson is coordinating the group that is already making plans for this awesome time away for women.
Ladies! Mark the weekend of March 2-4, 2012, on your calendars now! We have a wonderful weekend planned for all who attend. All women are invited, and if you feel strongly about having your daughter attend with you (12 years or older,) she is more than welcome to come experience our ECW community!
Joanne Ellison of Drawing Near to God Ministries will be our speaker, and she is prepared to help His Spirit “rise up” in all of us by teaching us the book of James. Through 4 different teachings, she will “talk about living in the kingdom as kingdom people who define the world through the way we handle suffering and trials, through our testimony of faith, and the wisdom of God.”
