Praying Protection over your Family

In the morning at the start of the day we prepare our hearts for the “changes and chances” of the day.  As we part from our wonderful spouse and precious children the Lord offers protection to each person in our household.  Drawing near to God and seeking His protection establishes our orientation to the day ahead.  Consider praying this prayer of protection each day.

Inviting the Lord’s light and life as the day comes to an end, helps us to come home again from the various places our day has taken us.  A prayer of protection defends our home and family relationships from any trouble of the day following us home.  At the same time, the Lord gives us energy to be truly present with others.

Praying Blessing over your Children

When we speak blessing over our children we invite God’s power, protection and favor.

Praying blessing over our children encourages their heart and fosters confidence in their identity as a chosen child of God.

Praying blessing over our children gives glory to God.

Praying blessing over our children is simple and  takes almost no time.

Speak this ancient blessing aloud to your child in the car line, at the side line, or as you tuck them in for the night.

May the Lord Bless you
and Keep you.
May the Lord make His face
to shine upon you.
May the Lord be gracious to you and give you peace.

(Numbers 6:24-26)

Praying the Scriptures for your Family

We live by faith…               not by sight!

When we want to see what the Lord is doing or how our needs are being met, we are to stand on the promises given to us in His Word.

In the case of our household, our marriage, and raising children in faith, we have needs which are impossible to meet apart from the Lord.

When we are utterly dependent on Him, our faith is stretched and grown as we wait and watch for His provision.

Our part…two things:

- to be good stewards with what has been entrusted to us…
- to stand on the promises of Scripture and  pray everyday for the Lord’s blessing and leadership of our life together.

God wants to transform whole families and develop our faith as we stand together, pray His word, and watch Him act on our behalf.
