Fall @ Your Cathedral

What’s going on?
It’s hard to believe, but the Fall is almost upon us, and besides our Sunday morning worship services and our weekly community groups, we have a whole host of things planned.

Here are some dates to whet your appetite…

Sat, Sept 21, 9am-4pm: Clergy Cottage Work Day
Part II of our sponsorship of the Clergy Cottage at Camp St Christopher is to roll up our sleeves and get painting. If you are a fan of HGTV, then you will love this day! Join us as we give as we see need.

Sat, Oct 5, 9.00-12.30pm: Membership Class
In case you are wondering what it means to be a Christian, an Anglican, or member of this Cathedral Church, here is a morning just for you. Join us as Peet and Jonathan explain these things in bite size portions.

Sun, Oct 20, 11.15am: Confirmation Service
If you like what you hear at the above gathering then you may want to be confirmed. Bishop FitzSimons Allison (who are courtyard is named after) will do the honors.

Fri/Sat, Oct 25/26: Living for the Living God
This weekend conference is a follow on from How Then Shall We Live, and features the Rev. Dr. Peter Walker, from Wycliffe Hall, UK, and Trinity School for Ministry, PA.

Weds, Oct 30, Nov 6, 13, 20, Eve: Parenting Well
Four evenings with experienced parent coach Chris Donavan, who, using scripture and the Love & Logic material, will help “good parents become better parents.”

Fri, Nov 8, 7.30pm: Masterworks CSO Concert
We are so blessed to have the Charleston Symphony Orchestra coming to give this concert this Fall.

Thurs, Dec 5, 12, 19, 12pm: Advent Lunch Series
To help us prepare our hearts for Christmas we will have a series much like our Lenten series, with communion (including a homily), and a tasty soup lunch to follow.

Sat, Dec 7, 4pm: St Nicholas Day Party
A new event for 2013, in honor of the man who inspired the Santa Claus legends. We will have fun together as families learning about St Nicholas, worshipping together and making some Christmas crafts.

Besides these things there is a wine tasting evening, Holy City Hymns event, children’s after school series on worship, and more. Watch this space for information.
