Hospitality
Welcome!
Whether you’re a life-long Anglican looking for a church home,
or you’re returning to Christianity after a long-time “sabbatical,”
or you’ve never even stepped inside a Christian church,
you have a new group of friends waiting to meet you at the Cathedral.
If you didn’t grow up in the Episcopalian or Anglican tradition, you may not be familiar with the “Cathedral” concept. For the most part it means our church serves as the Bishop’s seat for the Diocese of South Carolina, and is something we view as both a blessing and a responsibility.
As the Diocesan Cathedral, we strive to offer traditional Anglican worship in all its variety and finery—
- our 8am Service on Sunday utilizes the 1928 Prayer Book offering both a warm and contemplative worship time
- our 9:15am Service with contemporary worship band offers worshipers of all ages a comfortable and joy-filled place to be in the Lord’s presence
- our 11:15am Service is a glorious Rite One Choral Eucharist complete with a cope-clad Dean.
While we believe people come to church seeking the love, redemption, and grace of God, they decide to stay at a particular church because of relationships – the kind of relationships that form when people start “doing life together.” Everyone needs deep-seated friendships: Friends who will encourage you, lift you up, celebrate with you in good times, and carry you in bad times.
That’s our mission at The Cathedral—to offer people of all ages the opportunity to experience genuine community, grounded in Christ Jesus and guided by the Holy Spirit.
We look forward to meeting you soon!
