Giving comes as a response to…
- Witnessing the work of the Spirit of God
- Hearing the Word of God taught
- Being transformed by these two things
Out of that transformation our eyes are opened to the community around us and we endeavor to respond with devotion, hospitality and generosity. From this position, we are open to see needs all around us and are eager to address them.
Giving as we see need…
Giving to the Cathedral
In each of our three Sunday morning worship services, there is a moment in the liturgy when our offerings are collected and presented as worship to the Lord. These contributions can be in the form of cash or checks made out to “The Cathedral Church of St. Luke and St. Paul.”
You can now give online anytime with your mobile phone or computer by going to https://yourcathedral.churchcenteronline.com.
- You can easily set up recurring giving and have your regular donation automatically processed weekly or monthly.
- We support both ACH (electronic bank transfer) and Credit Card transactions. If you don’t have a strong preference, we’d encourage you to use ACH, as the fees are significantly lower.
- It is secure. We are using Stripe, one of the largest and most secure payment processors in the industry.
We do this regularly by a pledge to our community, so we can continue to worship together in Mid-town, in vibrant expressions of the Anglican tradition.
Gifts to Others
We do this intentionally as a community as we fund missions impacting Mid-town, the Dominican Republic and beyond
Responding to The Unexpected
We do this as we see particular and unforeseen needs arise throughout the course of the year.
The Coming of the Holy Spirit and Power
May we be “cut to the heart.”
… Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles,
May we each ask “what shall we do?”
“Brothers, what shall we do?” And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
For the sake of ourselves and the generations after us…
For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.” So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.
For this reason…
And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles.
We express Hospitality…
And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need.
We Devote ourselves to Community with one another…
And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
