Charleston Symphony Orchestra Concert at the Cathedral tonight!
Masterworks Series tonight, Friday, Nov 8, 7.30pm
Don’t miss this great chance to hear some wonderful music in our own church building. Tickets can be purchased online at and are $20 for adults and $10 for children & students. :    

Say “Cheese!” – Picture Day is next Sunday!
On Sunday, Nov 17, at 10.30am we will have a picture day for anyone not currently in our online pictorial directory. Please come to the Wellbrock Hall anytime between 10am and 11.30am.

Work Day @ Cathedral tomorrow: Saturday, November 9
We will be having a Cathedral service morning tomorrow, Saturday, November 9th from 9am-12.30pm. Join us as we do a bunch of odd jobs around the Cathedral property, including painting, yard work and cleaning. Please contact Jonathan Bennett or Frank Prochazka for more details. Children are welcome, and childcare for children 4 and under is provided – see below.

Diocesan Church Women’s Group Gathering
There will also be a meeting for all church women this Sat, Nov 9 at St. Philip’s Church. Coffee & fellowship followed by the speaker, Peter Rothermel, Diocesan Director of Faith Formation. His topic will be “Hearts of Fire: Rekindling Desire for What Matters”.  We will end with worship, and lunch. Free Childcare, Saturday, November 9th
Free childcare in the Cathedral nursery, for children of Cathedral members, is being graciously sponsored by our own DCW group for both the Work Day and the Women’s Gathering on Nov 9. Please contact Kester Heaton if you are interested: Childcare will begin at 8.45am and run until approx. 1.00pm.

Bake Sale: Thank you for your support
Thank you to all of you who brought and/or purchased baked goods to help support our sponsorship of the clergy cottage at Camp St Christopher. We raised close to $500! Thank you also to the women of the DCW who organized this event.

Strengthen ‘n’ Stretch Class begins next Saturday, November 16th
Our own Rachel Mink, who is a trained exercise instructor, will lead a free 5 week class for any women or girls, ages 12 and up who would like to attend. Parenting Well: Continues this Wednesday, Nov 13 @ 5.30pm

Duet Concert: Sun, Nov 10 at 4 pm @ Church of the Holy Communion
Basically Baroque, a free one-hour feast of sacred vocal duets for soprano and alto, will be offered by Holy Communion choir member Elsie Kohlenberg with her friend Karen Larson Turner, soprano, accompanied by Elsie’s husband, organist Lee Kohlenberg.  Seven duets by Purcell, J. S. Bach, Couperin, Marcello, Vivaldi, and Handel will be sung plus a duet by Roger-Ducasse and solos by Mozart and Ralph Vaughan Williams. Two organ interludes are by Bach and Herbert Howells.  These selections are planned to give a kaleidoscope of sounds and moods with texts from Christmas to Easter.
