This past month saw the second of three Holy City Prayer events this summer, here at the Cathedral. Approximately 250 adults and children, from at least seven different churches, gathered to pray for the Charleston area, in what was a truly ecumenical event.
Those who gathered were led in worship music by the Holy City Hymns collective from various churches, and in meditation on God’s word by TJ Johnston, pastor of St Peter’s AMIA, Mount Pleasant, and Shawn Maze, pastor of Sanctuary Church, Charleston. There were times of individual and corporate prayer, and time spent praying in pairs for the ministries that are happening in the Charleston area, and for the churches who God is using to reach the people of Charleston, asking that God’s kingdom would come in this place.
The next prayer night will be on Tuesday, August 13, from 6.30-8.00pm, again at the Cathedral, so if don’t worry if you missed the first one, there is more to come!
