Our Rhythms
Life Together at The Cathedral
Through union with Jesus Christ, we are adopted as God’s own in baptism and connected to his family, the Church. There is no qualification for belonging; we are each made in God’s image and are more loved and known than we can imagine. Our fellowship on Sundays and beyond is defined by this faith.
In our weekly confession of the Nicene Creed, we acknowledge that the Gospel story is our story, too. The good news of Jesus shapes us from the inside out. We are personally and perpetually caught up in Christ’s ongoing work to make all things new.
Our common life consists of practicing the way of Christ through fellowship and spiritual disciplines like prayer, sabbath, and learning. As we are transformed by the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit, we are made more and more like Jesus: holy, gracious, and full of joy.
In our dying and rising with Christ, we are invited into God’s mission to make all things new in our households, neighborhoods, schools, and workplaces. We build for God’s Kingdom each today, trusting him with our works of love, service, and generosity.

The Book of Common Prayer was compiled by Thomas Cranmer and forms the shape and substance of Anglican worship. It is in essence the Bible ordered for worship.
Our Structure
A church renewed by scripture and tradition
The Cathedral Church of St. Luke & St. Paul is a member of the Anglican Church in North America, a network of diocese and churches seeking to reach North America with the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the Anglican way.
The Cathedral Church of St. Luke & St. Paul is the Cathedral, or the seat of the Bishop, for the Anglican Diocese of South Carolina (ADOSC). The ADOSC is a community of over 50 congregations committed to biblical faithfulness, historic Anglican tradition, and gospel-centered mission across the state.
The Right Reverend Chip Edgar was consecrated as our diocesan bishop in 2022. He provides spiritual leadership and pastoral oversight to the clergy and churches of the diocese. Bishop Edgar’s ministry emphasizes local church vitality, church planting, and faithful discipleship as we carry out the work of Christ in our communities.
The Gospel Story
Beliefs in summary
We believe that our Triune God is bringing salvation and restoration to his broken creation through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Everyone who trusts in the finished work of Christ is made righteous and invited to join God in his work of renewal in the world.
We are a part of the historic, orthodox Christian Church and hold to the beliefs as outlined in the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds. These creeds serve as the touchstones for all faithful Christians and we affirm this through our weekly confession of the creeds in our Sunday services.
