Local

Christ calls us to seek the flourishing of our city. So the Cathedral seeks to pursue justice, mercy, and grace on behalf of the city of Charleston. We have joined with local ministries in partnership of the gospel.

Global

The Cathedral is part of a global body of Anglicans and are connected to several diocese around the globe. Our desire is to come alongside these sisters and brothers and partner in preaching the gospel in word and deed. Explore our global connections and find a place to serve Christ in the world.

Music – Lectors – Prayers – Acolytes – Vergers – Music

Music- Our choir and band lead our congregation in praising the Lord in word and song. Both our choral ministries and our contemporary band rely upon lay volunteers to make music with excellence.

Acolytes & Vergers – Our Acolytes are youth who assist the clergy in worship and our Vergers are adults who oversee the movements of the service.

Lectors and Prayer Leaders – Our Lectors and Prayer Leaders guide the congregation in the reading of Scripture and Prayers of the People.

Change Ringers – Our Change Ringers practice the lost art of tolling our historic bells, both to keep the time and to call the people to worship.

Hospitality – Our Hospitality Team provides food and drink for our time of fellowship in between services, and creates an atmosphere of warmth and welcome.

Greeters – Our Greeters welcome worshippers into our midst and help to facilitate the flow of the service.

Communion

Cup Bearer – Altar Guild

Altar Guild – Every Saturday, an Altar Guild team gathers in the church to prepare the sanctuary for worship, and on Sundays they facilitate the transition from service to service.

Cupbearers – Our cupbearers, or chalicists, as they are traditionally known, assist in Communion by administering the wine.

Nursery – Cathedral Kids – Prayer

Prayer Servants – Our Prayer Servants help to bear the burdens of the congregation by offering prayer during Communion.

Nursery Care – Our Nursery volunteers care for our smallest children so that new parents can worship without distraction.

Cathedral Kids – Our Cathedral Kids team forms our children in God’s Word during the sermon.
